Resume and research
Below is a picture of me from an article New Jersey Conservation put out about my volunteering with a 38 year long study on pine snakes in New Jersey. Every year we excavate artificial hibernaculums. We take temperatures as well as behavior studies on how long it takes for a snake to wake from brumation.
I am fortunate to get the opportunity to head a large overall study of Pine Snakes in Forked River. As of now I am trapping and tracking female pine snakes while pit tagging the males. We are taking blood samples of all pine snakes found to eventually do a genetic study within Forked River as well as genetics with other populations in the state.
On the left is one of the dens I found and corralled. We are collecting the snakes in multiple locations as they come out of brumation.
